It is 2:53 in the morning. Most sane people are asleep. Most notsane people are asleep. But not me. Its TV all morning, all day and half the night. They are going to shit when they get my overtime bill. Should I sleep for an hour and then get up again, or should I simply shower, grab a monster and go back to the bureau? At least it is Saturday. Should be an early day. I should not have spent half the night on the phone when I could have caught a nap.

Health care, Afghanistan, Czars and now the war on Fox News. This could turn out to be my best year ever. Obama's idea that he will somehow make Fox News not count is backfiring. Since the White House has begun this latest campaign of bullshit Fox's ratings have been climbing every night. My friend uplinktruck told me that when ever someone tells him not to watch something he goes out and does that just to see what people don't want him to see. I think lots of people think the same way. It is funny to listen to all those White House people trying to persuade us that Fox is not a news organization. Even the other networks who all look down their nose at Fox are cringing at this tactic. Oh well more money for me.

The health care debate has been good for business. My union says that I am supposed to support it and that I should be making signs and going meetings and speaking out. Oh hell no!

I want to thank the people

I want to thank the people that stood up at the town hall meetings and spoke out against a government health system when I could not. The down side to my job is that I have to sit quietly and remain neutral while all kinds of bullshit is spread. Those people that spoke have my thanks and my silent applause.

The first Hispanic Supreme Court Judge is about to be sworn in. Of course I have to be right in the middle of it. So here we are, all swept and searched and locked in the room. Then we get to see her take the second oath. One thing is certain. Future Justice Sotomayor will be good for my income. There will lots of talking heads looking at everything she does right down to what she eats for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Pakistan is a mess. The government is trying to get control back but the radicals have a huge head start. It is going to be a very rough go for the government. I don't think the outcome is a sure thing. It just goes to show what happens when a government sits on it's ass turning a blind eye to the bad guys.

These people will not stop until we are all dead or they are all dead. Another day, another bombing.

I'm back in the United States. I'm tired. I'm rung out. I'm going to spend some quality time with my cat. Then a long very hot bath and then to bed. My phones are off and I'm not turning them back on until I get up. I really want to sleep for a long time.

It is freaking hot here! But at least they gave us some shade and the internet sort of works.

This morning the energy czar said that she was was not going to take away my Tahoe. But in the future it will be different, more energy efficient. I wonder if it will go up hill.

A little Turkey on the side

That cat is out of the bag. Here we sit in Turkey while a pool crew and reporter went on to Iraq with the president. But we are still making TV, our reporter talking about what the president is doing based on reports from the pool. This had to be the worse kept secret on the planet. At least among the newsies. We knew he was going to either Iraq or Afghanistan on this trip. There is a difference between the Obama administration and the Bush Administration. On the first trip to Iraq with President Bush, we had no idea what was going on until we were airborne. The Obama administration is leaking like a colander.

Writer's Block: Controversial Interrogation Techniques

Do you think controversial interrogation techniques should be used to get key intelligence from alleged terrorists? When, if at all, could it go too far?

Hell yes. The bad guys chose their road, let them walk it.

It goes too far only when it moves from getting the information to torment for the sake of torment.

Daylight Savings Time Sucks!

I hate the spring forward day. It is bad enough that most days I am out and working couple hours before normal people get out of bed. But losing this hour really pisses me off.

The winner is...

The academy award show is always fun. The after the Oscars parties are even more fun. But this year I was kept in a production truck for the entire show. I think I like being on an ENG crew better. At least you get to see them up in person. But that paycheck is so very nice.

How do I get a cute little user picture? Anyone know?

I'm back

I landed in DC Saturday night. I got to play wonderful games with customs and my gear. They went over all my gear and ran me, my passport and my carnet through all their computers. So after wasting an hour smiling and saying nice things to the officers, I finally got home. Monday I was back on the morning shows again. The new administration and congress are certainly stimulating my income.

Unbelievable!

Lots of people are mean. Some people are really mean. But the son-of-a-bitch that tried to make a friend of mine lay two people off right before Christmas needs to have his ass kicked.

This was an interesting experiment. Now it appears at may be coming to an end. Live Journal says that they are not going to permit the basic accounts. If my account here is shut off, then so be it. I only got one to comment on my friend Uplinktruck. I called him and he said he would look at the notice as soon as he got parked. He doesn't know what they are doing and didn't see the note. But he has a paid account so maybe he doesn't get a note. But in case my account gets deleted, good by cold cruel Live Journal!

Hello World!!!

Okay, my tortured friend "uplinktruck" talked me into writing a blog. He says I might be good at it if I can learn to talk about myself.

This will be the only public blog posting because someone at CNN just got fired for having one. I am freelance at this point in my life, but why make waves? I have to eat just like anyone else. To read what I write here you will have to let me know so I can add you to my friends list.

It is time to get back to work. More later.
